Virtual machines
Links to VM lifecycle guides: create, connect, resize, backups, and delete.
What you can do here
- Create a VM — image, username, CPU mode, resources, SSH keys, WAN/LAN.
- SSH and console — when to use SSH and when to use noVNC.
- SSH password login — enable SSH password login on Linux.
- Resize a VM — CPU/RAM/disk/NIC and downgrade limits.
- Reinstall a VM — reinstall the OS from an image.
- Snapshots — one fast rollback point.
- VM backups and restore — restore a selected backup.
- Delete a VM — backups and reserved public IP during delete.
- Firewall and security groups — WAN rules and Datacenter groups.
Watch out
A powered-off VM no longer bills CPU and RAM, but disk, reserved public IPs, backups, and other active project resources still bill.
